Watercolour Lettering Workshop

Typographic Portrait Workshop


Create the most personalised handmade gift you will ever give and leave a legacy the recipient will cherish forever.  The workshop starts by mapping out the key areas of your design, where to add any illustrations, then determining the weight of each lettering section. You might choose to use block lettering, Neuland, Gothic or a combination of typographic styles.  They key is to arrive with an A4 photocopy of your chosen person, along with beautiful quotes sourced from family and friends.  That preparation is, in itself, an incredibly insightful experience and essential for the success of your completed design.

  • High quality tracing paper and A4 white paper
  • Lettering exemplars for inspiration
  • Instruction handout

Event hosts, prepare to welcome your guests! From staining the timber to lettering the final design, this creative workshop is designed as an introduction to beautiful hand lettering for your special event.


You’ll learn the 'invisible frame' technique then sand your timber panel while you dream up the lettering layout. By the end of the class, you will have a finished piece and all the tools and techniques to complete additional signage at home.

Christmas Card Worlkshop

Festive Card Workshop


Create a festive gold card using Winsor & Newton gouache on quality Canson paper. Dream up your own design or use the easy stencils provided. Once you learn how to blend and paint with gouache, this will be a technique you'll use year after year. If you like a little shimmer and shine, you will love gold gouache for its instant glamour.

Double Pencil Lettering Worlkshop

Stippled Lettering Workshop


Learn calligraphy using the double pencil technique then decorate your letters with dynamic stipples, gradients and contours. By the end of class, you will be able to confidently write and embellish a quote using your newfound lettering & stippling skills.

Gold Wreath Workshop

Metallic Wreath Workshop


Create a stunning or silver gold wreath using Winsor & Newton gouache on quality Canson paper. First you will learn brush lettering with creamy gouache, then proceed to positioning your word inside a wreath of your own making. You will also work with silver gouache on blue Canson card to achieve a lavish look in a different hue.

Double Pencil Lettering Worlkshop

Uncial Calligraphy, in Pencil


Start with the basics learning the traditional art of Uncial lettering. Using the easy technique of double pencils, you'll master the angle and pressure needed to achieve beautiful lettering which you can colour, scan or outline.  This is a great class for beginners, both left-handers and right-handers.

Carolingian Calligraphy Workshop

Carolingian Calligraphy Workshop


Learn beautiful Carolingian calligraphy from the 8th century, then create a concertina message booklet adorned with watercolour. This is an easy class for beginners or experienced calligraphers — great for left-handers too.
